This is me in the bathroom of the hospital I was born in 23 years ago.
I took this picture after the following conversation with a girlfriend:
me: [after approximately 6 minutes of complaining about needing to use the bathroom] I just can’t pee in a public place. I really don’t want to. I don’t think I can make it home but I can NOT use a public bathroom right now. I can’t
her: …
me: OH MY GOD!!! That hospital. All hospitals have bathrooms like right when you walk in and you can pee in them no matter what - it’s like, if they tried not to let you, you could just say it was a medical emergency, or like if they didn’t let you, you can just be like well then I need to see a doctor.
her: …
me: PLUS I WAS BORN THERE!! LET’S GO. PLEASE HURRY!
her: I can’t even tell if you’re being serious.
I was being 100% serious. About all of that. I sincerely felt entitled to use their bathroom based solely on the fact that I had been born inside this institution… And I was prepared to explain that to anyone who tried to question my presence or actions.
